Why Carly serves with GlamourGals

Carly is a Program Director at Archstone Foundation.
She first got involved with GlamourGals in 2010 as the founder of her high school chapter, and went on to found two additional chapters, one in undergrad and one in graduate school.

Why does ending elder loneliness matter to you personally?
"No one should be cast aside or excluded as a result of getting older. Connections come and go throughout our lives, but we should not be limited in our ability to meaningfully connect with others because we are aging. We have a responsibility to the older adults in our lives and our future selves to create opportunities to stay engaged - intergenerational programs like GlamourGals reinforce the value of connecting across generations to address loneliness and reshape negative views of aging for all participants, young and old.”

"GlamourGals teen volunteers teach me that anyone can be a compassionate leader when given the opportunity. Whatever the motivation for getting involved in GlamourGals is, teen volunteers can make a large impact in the lives of the older adults they meet through GlamourGals, and can have their lives forever impacted by these older adults as well.”
