Yes! GlamourGals chapters are open to high school students across the U.S. and Canada. To get started, visit glamourgals.org/get-involved-students and follow the prompts. Due to overwhelming interest, new chapter registration may be on a waitlist — but you can sign up and we’ll be in touch with next steps as soon as spots open up!

Absolutely! We have thriving college chapters at universities across the U.S. and Canada. The process is similar to starting a high school chapter. Visit glamourgals.org/get-involved-students to sign up. If your college has a club registration process, we can provide any documentation or information you need for approval.

Every chapter needs at least a Chapter President — the student who takes the lead in organizing the chapter. Many chapters also have additional officers like a Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Public Relations Officer. However, you don’t need a full executive board to get started — you just need one passionate leader ready to launch!

There’s currently no strict minimum number of volunteers required to start a chapter! While it’s great to have a team, even a small group can make a big impact. Many chapters start with just a few dedicated volunteers and grow from there. Focus on finding a core group of committed students who are excited about the mission. As for leaders, each chapter needs at least 2 leaders (one being the President) to start the chapter; the other leadership role options are Vice President, Treasurer, and Public Relationship Officer.

Yes, you can absolutely start a chapter at your new school! For your current chapter, we recommend identifying and training a successor well before you graduate. Introduce them to your advisor, your senior home contacts, and GlamourGals National. We have resources to help make leadership transitions smooth so your chapter continues to thrive.

GlamourGals offers several opportunities: GLTI (GlamourGals Leadership Training Institute), our annual training event for leaders; Power Brunch, our annual networking and mentoring event; Spirit Week, a chapter engagement initiative with fun daily themes; and our Journaling Platform, where you can share your GG experiences online. Plus regular communications, resources, and support from GG National!

We recommend sharing that GlamourGals is a nationally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2000; that our mission is addressing elder isolation while building empathetic teen leaders; that chapters are student-led with adult advisor oversight; that there is an annual registration fee; that activities include regular visits to local senior living facilities; and that GG provides training, resources, and national support. Once your chapter is registered, our team will help guide you through finding a local senior living community to partner with. You can start by researching senior homes, assisted living facilities, and retirement communities in your area. Many facilities have an Activities Director or Life Enrichment Coordinator — they’re your best point of contact. We also have resources and tips in your chapter toolkit to help you make that first outreach. Don’t worry — our team is here to support you every step of the way!

GlamourGals chapters can partner with a variety of senior living communities, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, memory care communities, and independent living/retirement communities. The key is finding a facility that welcomes volunteers and has residents who would enjoy companionship and our signature beauty makeover visits. Some chapters even partner with multiple facilities!

Absolutely! We love hearing from senior living communities who are interested in hosting GlamourGals volunteers. If you’re a senior home representative, please fill out our “Get Involved – Senior Homes” form on our website at glamourgals.org/get-involved. Our team will connect you with a local chapter or help explore options in your area.

Our visits are all about meaningful connection! Volunteers provide companionship, conversation, and our signature beauty makeovers — including nail painting, hand massages, and styling. We also organize special activities like holiday card-writing through our My Dear Friend campaign, craft sessions, and more. Every visit is designed to brighten a senior’s day and combat the isolation many seniors face.

Yes, each senior facility may have its own visitor policies, which can include sign-in procedures, health screenings, or guidelines around illness. Your chapter advisor and the facility’s Activities Director will work together to ensure all visits follow the facility’s protocols. GlamourGals also provides guidance on best practices for safe and respectful visits.

Every GlamourGals chapter requires an adult advisor — someone who provides guidance, oversight, and support to your student-led chapter. The advisor serves as the liaison between GlamourGals National, the school, and the senior facility. They help ensure visits run smoothly and that students have a trusted adult supporting them.

While many chapters have a teacher or school faculty member as their advisor, it’s not strictly required. An advisor can be a teacher, school counselor, club sponsor, parent, or another trusted adult in the community. The most important thing is that they are committed to supporting the chapter and can be present for visits and key activities.

Yes! Parents can absolutely serve as chapter advisors. We have several successful chapters where a parent serves in this role. What matters most is that the advisor is reliable, supportive, and able to help coordinate visits and chapter activities.

The advisor’s role includes: serving as the primary adult contact for the chapter; helping coordinate and attend senior home visits; supporting student leaders with logistics and communication; ensuring all GlamourGals guidelines and facility protocols are followed; encouraging chapter participation in national campaigns and events (like My Dear Friend and Spirit Week); and communicating with GlamourGals National as needed.

Ideally, the advisor (or a designated adult chaperone) should be present during senior home visits to ensure safety and proper supervision. For other chapter activities like meetings, fundraisers, or planning sessions, the level of advisor involvement can be more flexible. The key is having a reliable adult presence for in-person visits with seniors.

Yes, there is an annual chapter registration fee. This fee helps GlamourGals National provide your chapter with supplies, training resources, programmatic support, and access to all of our national campaigns and events.

Your registration fee goes directly toward supporting your chapter: access to the GlamourGals chapters platform for managing your chapter; program supplies and materials for visits (GG Mini Mirrors, facial cleansing pads, etc.); chapter t-shirts for your team; training resources and support from GG National; eligibility for national campaigns like My Dear Friend, Spirit Week, and the Glammy Scholarship Awards; and access to the Creativity Fund for special chapter projects.

You can pay online through our chapters platform at chapters.glamourgals.org, or by check. When you register your chapter, you’ll receive instructions on how to submit payment. If your school needs to process the payment through a specific system, let us know and we’ll work with you!

Absolutely! Many chapters fundraise to cover their registration fee — it’s a great first leadership activity. Bake sales, spirit days, car washes, or reaching out to local businesses for sponsorship are all popular options. Your advisor and school administration can help support your efforts.

The registration fee is annual — paid each school year to keep your chapter active and ensure continued access to supplies, resources, and support from GG National. Returning chapters can renew through the chapters platform.

The registration fee is due at the time of chapter registration. For returning chapters, renewal is typically at the start of the new school year. If you need additional time to raise the funds, let us know — we’re happy to work with you on timing.
