Your Role as an Advisor
Advisors and teachers are the backbone of student progress, achievement, and chapter leadership!
You guide, advise, and set the tone so chapter leaders can do their best work.
Advisor Responsibilities
- Stay connected with GG National about chapter progress
- Fill all four leadership roles within your chapter - each term support recruitment and onboarding of new leaders
- Provide adult oversight - for all chapter activities and senior home visits
- Navigate school policy - for clubs and chapters and support leaders in this effort
- Keep records current - post volunteer events and submit service reports promptly
Note: High school and college students usually take on more of the chapter's leadership so advisors act as a guide rather than a doer. For our middle school pilot this year, since students are just building those skills, advisors will be the leads and have much more overview, working with GG National to build out this program.
