“ This event was challenging to organize, but extremely worth it and inspirational for myself to take on greater projects as a leader of GlamourGals in my town.”

For Valentine's day, I had the idea of bringing flowers and cards to all the lovely ladies at the home. However, this presented many problems for me to solve. I had to find cheap flowers, cheap cards, people to pass out these gifts, and needed assistance from the nursing home.

With the help of GG National, I was given 100 free cards to color and arranged a meeting for volunteers to earn a service hour for coloring in cards. Of course, we happened to have a snow day when the meeting was scheduled and I was left with 100 black and white cards to color alone. Luckily, with the help of my board and cheer team, and just three days until our visit, all of the cards got colored and cut with pretty trim. Then, after calling florist after florist and not even getting a call back, a family friend introduced me to a flower shop connection that handed me over a 100 flower donation with no hesitation!

Finally, through some enticing and lots of begging, I was able to convince about 15 of the nicest (and most handsome according to the seniors) boys at school to take time out of their Saturday to pass out flowers. This event was extremely stressful because of extenuating circumstances and having to deal with 15 rambunctious boys in a quiet home.

However, everything ended up working out great! The seniors were so ecstatic to be greeted by young men chatting with them and giving them special treats. This event was challenging to organize, but extremely worth it and inspirational for myself to take on greater projects as a leader of GlamourGals in my town.
