Making Good at the Glamour Ball
Gabrielle O, a Volunteer from the Commack High School, speaks about her experience filming Making Good with Kirby Heyborne and how seniors sustain life long friendships in two journal entries.
Day One:
Today, we got the opportunity to experience a great thing and I'm honored to have been involved in it! We were able to be a part of a great tv show called ‘Making Good’ featuring the host Kirby Heyborne. Kirby on day 1 of filming the show learned how to paint the nails and apply makeup properly, as well as meeting a few of the wonderful ladies who would attend the Glamour Ball the very next day. As the day went on, all us GlamourGals got to make Galentine’s Day cards for the ladies that were attending, which was so much fun!
I learned from this experience that GlamourGals leaves a big impact on these ladies in a very positive way. I was so thrilled that I was able to help this TV show really see that clearly! I truly can’t wait for the Glamour Ball tomorrow and to see the looks on the wonderful ladies face of how beautiful the room looks! It’s going to be a great day and I can’t wait!
Day Two:
On the 2nd day of filming ‘Making Good’ for GlamourGals, we got to experience the Glamour Ball! It was fabulous and more than I ever expected. We decorated the room beautifully and got to meet fantastic women! I heard the most amazing stories but especially from two ladies, Ginger and Ann.
Ginger and Ann have been best friends since they were five years old and never had a fight. When they were sixteen they went to a sweet sixteen for a friend and met two boys. They started dating them, eventually marrying them, but little did they know that the boys were cousins! They are now related in a way that to them was amazing! They were in each other weddings and had their children be best friends, making their friendship last forever!
Hearing their story really inspired me and reminded me how important friendship truly is. Beside the great conversation, the ball was amazing, seeing all the women dance and have a great time. I’m so honored to have been involved in this experience!
