First Meeting and Cards
Stephanie R., a Cinnaminson High School volunteer, writes about how her chapter has been a support system for her during these tough times.
I had my first meeting this Monday and it was really nice to see all my friends and the new members. It was really nice to know that this is more than just a club and a support system to create new friends and help each of us to get through these hard times. A few days after my meeting, I made some My Dear Friend Cards for the people in the nursing home. It was nice to know that I am still connecting with the seniors and making their day. I liked these cards especially because I feel that I am connecting with both the ladies who want to get manicures and the men who I wouldn’t normally see if they weren’t getting a manicure. I also think that GlamourGals has helped with the stress of school and has created a safe space for me. I really miss seeing the familiar faces and writing the cards helped me and helped me feel more connected. I’m really excited that we are still going to be able to connect and brighten seniors’ days even in a pandemic.
