Wrapping Up 2020

Kirstin D., a UC San Diego volunteer, motivates us to have an even more impactful year and writes about her successes in 2020.

This year has been full of adjustments, hardships, firsts, and new experiences. Despite this pandemic disrupting routines and events like makeovers, in-person club meetings, and club tabling on campus, we as an organization have adapted smoothly and relatively quickly to virtual platforms and tools. We have had lots of virtual events via Zoom meetings and have reached out to more than two senior homes from not only the San Diego region but also around the country. The impact we have made is something to be very proud of and I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to make a difference in this ever-changing world. This year, as crazy as it has been, has been one of our best years we have had in terms of volunteer service and connection to senior homes, other than Atria Rancho Peñasquitos. This pandemic will not stop us from fulfilling our mission of fostering intergenerational connections and providing on-going companionship to isolated seniors around the nation !! Cheers to an awesome and impactful 2021!!!!
