GlamourGals at UCSD x Triton Community Leadership Institute

Kirstin D., a UC San Diego chapter leader, teamed up with a first-year organization in her college to write kind notes to isolated seniors this Spring and spread awareness about GlamourGals to the rest of the UCSD student body.

At the end of February, our chapter and a first-year organization on campus collaborated to host a kind note writing event to make cards for seniors in need of social-distanced friendship and kindness. Our goal was to make 50 cards total to send to Atria Rancho Penasquitos in San Diego and Shepherd's View Assisted Living in Missouri. In the process, we were able to give our chapter more exposure to UC San Diego freshmen within the program, we got a lot of interest from this event and the presentation slideshow we had created was beautiful. Special thanks to Amanda (Program Manager) and Sanjana (our chapter's Public Relations Officer) for their hard work and efforts in making this event happen. Thanks again to Rachel Doyle and Alina Aleaga (TCLI Program Coordinator) for this extended effort and collaboration. Card-making materials were provided by TCLI as well which helped participants write and send their kind notes. I really enjoyed making cards with the participants on Zoom and it was great sharing our wonderful chapter with students. This collective event made a difference in the hearts of our members, potential members, and seniors who received the notes. I am super excited about our future events! Cheers to a wonderful Spring Quarter!!!!
