Galentines -- Oooh Lala!

Anjana P. Thomas A. Edison High School shares something she’s learned about being kind while writing her cards for Valentine’s Day.

Today was our first meet for Galentine's Day Card Writing. This time, Rachel is eager to make her goal of 10,000 cards, but already she had made it past 20,000! I'm so proud of her and all the GG members for thinking about the need for others.

Recently, I've learned that being kind doesn't require your personal effort. If you are naturally kind, then there is no need to exert yourself; you simply be who you are. I recently recalled a phrase from my middle school bulletin board, that said: "Be the Best Person You Can Be." If we want to make GlamourGals better, we have to be our best selves, and let that be the light that guides us. Trying to be anyone but yourself, or get into a certain standard will never get you anywhere. For this reason, I've taken it upon myself to create a list of future short-term and long-term goals our GG chapter should achieve this year, like implementing creative games, crossword puzzles, along with making cards.
