An Inspiring Woman
During Women’s History Month in March, Sajini K, a Susan E. Wagner High School volunteer, wrote about a woman who inspires her.
Despite the end of Women's History Month, I still believe that it is important to recognize the amazing women who continue to overcome obstacles and succeed. With my passion for achieving equity in education, I find Malala Yousafzai's fight to help girls become the leaders of tomorrow inspiring.
The disparities between schools and the further disruption created by political uproar prompted Malala to advocate for a girls' right to an education. She knew the consequence that may arise from her actions, yet still went on to fight for her peers. Her sacrifice has impacted girls throughout the world, including me.
