Marion Manor Visit
Kiera B., Mount Saint Dominic Academy President, details their chapter’s recent visit to Marion Manor in Caldwell. The ladies wholeheartedly loved their manicures and can’t wait for the volunteers to return.
On March 24th the Mount Saint Dominic Academy chapter visited our senior home, Marion Manor in Caldwell, to give our seniors manicures. This experience was definitely an amazing way to connect with our seniors, looking around the room at all of the volunteers' smiling faces and laughing with our seniors, so involved in all their conversations as if connecting with them was a daily occurrence, was such an amazing image. This feeling of relationship and friendship towards these ladies brought such a sense of success and love to me, as if all of my work put into the establishment of this chapter has paid off already from our first manicure.
What especially gave me an incredible sense of animation was after the nails were done, all the women were gazing at their newly polished faces, with big bright smiles on their faces. Almost all of the seniors asked me continuously when Glamour Gals would be back, and if we could do makeup and nails next time we come, saying to all of the volunteers "April 7th I can't wait!" and "I already have April 7th on my calendar!" Just knowing how excited they are looking forward to us visiting them again is all I need to know that this chapter will make an immense difference in these women's lives.
