What I Aspire to Achieve from GlamourGals
Kiera B., Mount Saint Dominic Academy chapter President, reflects on a recent senior home visit. She shares about the enriching conversations she’s had with residents when giving manicures and makeovers.
Some things that I hope to get out of my GG experience thus far are friendships and memories. I am so excited to continue to pursue my interest in helping others around me, especially senior citizens. It has always been my passion, whether I am going to senior homes to play games with them on weekends, or even just helping my grandparents with things around the house, I have always had a great time. I love having conversations about their experiences in life, and all of the stories they have to share. They are so interesting and teach me so much about my present life and how to live it. I am hoping that our seniors will have the same effect, and teach me things that no one else would be able to.
This visit was amazing! Once again I, the volunteers, and the seniors. most importantly, had such a wonderful time connecting with everyone. I absolutely love everything about GlamourGals and having these visits are the highlight of my month. I am so excited to go back again this May and do something spring-themed that the ladies will enjoy. Knowing they are happy and having a great time with us makes all of this worthwhile.
