One of the Last Visits of the Year
Reagan Burke, President of the Bishop Eustace Preparatory School chapter, reflects on the past year and all they’ve accomplished by returning to in-person programming. The residents greatly appreciate the all manicures and engaging conversations.
12/1/21 As a trial run for the first time since covid, we visited a new home called Spring Hills Assisted Living very close to our school. It was definitely the best place we have visited, the workers and residents were extremely welcoming and sweet. This is definitely a center I think my chapter will be visiting frequently. The residents were extremely grateful and were so surprised that this was a free gift to them. As the only returning GlamourGal from previous years, it was the 14 other visitors first time and they all seemed to enjoy it a ton. I am very happy my chapter could finally do a visit without covid restrictions! It was the perfect trial run since now we know how spacious the place is and a good amount of residents interested so we can bring more helpers next time and definitely need some more nail polish color options and newer fresh ones.
5/4/22 Watching my club grow and the volunteers enjoying their time is the highlight of this whole experience. Our new addition of Glamour Pals, the five boys who came to the visit even got involved in painting a resident's nails and were very proud of their final result. As a new volunteer I would advise them to not be nervous, most of the residents just want to talk and watch us do others nails, it is not embarrassing if you mess up a nail and you definitely don't have to be a professional to do it. It ends up being a wholesome and eye-opening experience and even fun to do with friends.
