Summer Interns Capstone Projects

Our Summer 2023 Interns identified points for improvement within GlamourGals as an organization and developed strategies for us to implement in the future. Read on to discover more about their projects.

SOCIAL MEDIA ANALYSIS - Kelly

“I'm a rising sophomore at Princeton University. My project focused on ways for chapters to stay on brand in all their posts. I found that 59% of active GG Chapter accounts have updated bios, which is a number we hope to increase next service year. It's important to be able to recognize a GG account and increase our engagement!”

ALUMNI ENGAGEMENT - Haley

“I am a rising senior at Princeton University studying Public and International Affairs. My project focused on alumni feedback to maintain their involvement in the organization. All GlamourGals alumni who responded to our survey were interested in some form of future engagement with GlamourGals, which provides an exciting opportunity to expand upon existing cohorts and optimize future involvement.”

ASSISTING CHAPTER LEADERS - Sam

“I’m a rising junior at Indiana University studying Marketing and Management. My capstone topic was to create new one-pagers with topics for Chapter Leaders to explain to their volunteers. As a past Chapter Leader, I wanted to create updated informational sheets to better educate volunteers on the mission of GlamourGals. Only 48% of volunteers were educated on senior isolation, but with the new one-pagers my hope is that volunteers in the coming service year will be more aware of even more common GlamourGals phrases and events!”

VOLUNTEER IMPACT - Halle
“I’m a rising junior at Vanderbilt University majoring in Human and Organizational Development with a minor in Business. My capstone topic focused on volunteer development and gaining insights into improving GlamourGals future programming. The data showed 95% of volunteers found in-person activities with seniors impactful and 97% of volunteers assessed their volunteering experience as positive. The statistics from my work will be integrated into grant proposals, utilized in the organization's end-of-year report, and ultimately enhance volunteer experience while boosting volunteer retention.”
