Senior Home Visit Full of Love

Melanie M., President of the NYU chapter, shares about her chapter’s recent makeover at their local senior home.

Yesterday, we headed to Isaacs Center for their monthly birthday party. Everyone was wearing pink and dancing around. It was nice to see everyone so happy. We set up Valentine's cards and friendship bracelets made by volunteers for the seniors to take as they entered, as well as heart shaped lollipops, which everyone loved! We painted nails and chatted with the elders, many of which always looked forward to our visits. We had a nice conversation with one elder in particular, Elise. We had previously spoken and taken a photo before, so she was happy to see I remembered her. She was so inspiring to listen to, and I enjoyed every bit of our insightful conversation. I’m already looking forward to our visit next month!
