Walking Together for Alzheimer’s

Dana P. of the Albuquerque Academy Chapter shares how her GlamourGals Chapter came together with their senior living facility to join the fight against Alzheimer’s.

Albuquerque Academy partnered with Amaran Senior Living this year at the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Despite the rain and the wind, there was a lot of excitement to support our senior friends with Alzheimer’s. We were there to cheer on our friends but the walking path was muddy with rain and that made pushing the wheelchairs a difficult task. So, our group teamed up to have two people pushing each wheelchair and we got to the finish line! This annual event is the world's largest event to raise awareness and support for Alzheimer's care and research across 600 communities. It was my first time at this event and I am glad to help work toward a future where there can be a cure for this illness.
