Kindness is Blooming
Audrey F. of the Park City High School Chapter found connection blooming through an unexpected act of kindness.
When we went to give the seniors flowers, I was a little doubtful about how impactful it would really be. I wondered, 'How much can a few flowers really do?' But I was so wrong. Many of the women and a few of the men were incredibly grateful! It seemed as though they had forgotten what it felt like to receive kindness in that way.
One woman, in particular, was so overwhelmed by the flowers that she started crying! She didn't say anything, just held them in her hands, rocked back and forth, smiled, and cried quietly. It was both sad and beautiful. Many of the senior citizens kept saying, 'For me?' and when we confirmed, they would ask, 'Are you sure?'
It was a wonderful and rewarding experience. I feel so grateful for the opportunity to make these people happy and feel loved.
