GlamourGals offers two programs a senior home can join. My Dear Friend sends handwritten cards to seniors. Makeover/Manicure brings local teens and college students to the senior home to provide complimentary makeovers, manicures, and conversation with residents.

Yes. When you sign up, you can choose My Dear Friend only, Makeover/Manicure only, or both.

There is no cost for a senior home to participate in any of our programs.

You do not need to sign anything to participate, aside from a photo and video release form if your home chooses individual approval for photos of residents. Once you complete the sign up form, there is nothing else to do until a chapter matches with your home and reaches out to schedule your first visit.

The people receiving these activities must be seniors. If your home needs any additional accommodations, just let the chapter know ahead of time.

Once a chapter has matched with your home, they will reach out to your Activities Director to schedule a date and time for the first visit. These programs run year round, so timing depends on when a chapter matches with you rather than a fixed start date.

GlamourGals does not run background checks on the teens and college students who volunteer for these visits.

A visit typically lasts about 2 to 3 hours. There is no set number of volunteers who attend, but chapters aim to bring at least one teen or college student volunteer for every three seniors.

There is no set number of cards a senior home is guaranteed to receive each year. If your home signed up for My Dear Friend, whether and how often you receive cards depends on whether a volunteer within about 15 miles chooses your home, the same kind of matching used to connect chapters with homes across our programs. Because GlamourGals cannot promise a specific number or schedule, cards tend to arrive around the holidays, Valentine's Day, and sometimes Women's History Month.

Matching happens automatically. Any chapter within 15 miles of your senior home can search for homes near their own zip code, see your home on the list, and choose it.

There is no fixed timeline. Matching happens whenever a nearby chapter looks for homes in their area, so it depends on chapter activity near you.

Your submission goes through a short review process before your home is added to our active list of participating senior homes. From there, it becomes visible to nearby chapters based on the programs you selected.

We will only use this contact information to communicate about GlamourGals programs, such as letting you know cards are on the way or coordinating a makeover or manicure experience. We will never use this information for solicitation or fundraising.

A senior home chooses one of three options at sign up: yes for all seniors, with release forms on file covering everyone; only case by case, meaning a signed release form is needed for each senior individually before they are photographed; or no photos or videos at all.

You can update your information anytime through the Update Your Info form, which covers changes to your Activities Director, senior home name, address, or anything else you would like to note.
