Katerina E., a Commack High School volunteer, shares the life lessons she’s learned from being a GlamourGals volunteer.

I have learned a lot of life lessons in GlamourGals, even after we pressed pause on makeovers. The smile on the seniors’ faces when we visit them or send them cards has shown me that no act of kindness is too small to make a positive change. Continuing to volunteer with GlamourGals during the pandemic has taught me that the difficult times are when we need to step up and help our community any way we can. Rather than stop doing anything with the seniors, we sent cards and called them and it goes to show how kind acts stand out in times of trouble. Being isolated during the pandemic has made me realize how important connection is and the impact that GlamourGals is having on these seniors. GlamourGals continues to inspire people and make an impact no matter what is going on in the world.
