2021 Spotlight Award: Jill Centella

J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. Global Head of Litigation Honored with
GlamourGals Spotlight Award

The award celebrates an individual’s professional and philanthropic achievements.

NEW YORK – Jill Centella, Managing Director and Global Head of Litigation for J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., has been announced as the winner of the GlamourGals Foundation’s third annual Spotlight Award. The award celebrates an individual’s professional and philanthropic achievements. Previous winners include Erika Engelson, of Deutsche Bank, and Alina Casner of Quintum Management LLC.  GlamourGals’ 9th annual Illuminate event, hosted and underwritten by Andrew and Ann Tisch, will take place virtually on Wednesday, May 19, 2021.

Jill exemplifies GlamourGals’ commitment to diversity.  She has been a champion of diversity in the legal profession for years, leading the way in pressing the entire profession to work to achieve more leadership opportunities for women and diverse lawyers.  Ending elder isolation is also an important issue for Jill, who shares: “The deep connections I had with my grandmother and that my daughter had with my mother are the memories we both cherish the most in our lives.  These generations of women have so much to learn from each other and an abundance of love and support to share.  I’m thrilled to support an organization that facilitates and values these meaningful connections.”  Jill has supported Glamour Gals’ #MyDearFriend note-writing campaign this year, by introducing the campaign to her colleagues, leading to almost 600 J.P. Morgan Chase employees writing over 3,900 Valentine's Day notes to seniors.

The health and safety of guests and supporters is of the utmost importance to GlamourGals, and thus this year’s Illuminate Celebration will be held virtually. The evening will feature presentations from GlamourGals leaders, networking opportunities, a special interactive demonstration, and a silent auction.  The event is co-chaired by Farrah Berse, Counsel at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton, and Garrison LLP; Erika Engelson, Head of Americas Litigation at Deutsche Bank; and Eric Fisch, National Sector Head of Retail and Apparel Corporate Banking at HSBC. Illuminate is attended by a diverse network of executives, entrepreneurs, and GlamourGals supporters. Visionary sponsors include Covington & Burling LLP; Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP; Greenberg Traurig, LLP; Jones Day; King & Spalding LLP; Massey & Gail LLP; Morgan Lewis; Ropes & Gray LLP; Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP; Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP; and Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP. Benefactor sponsors include Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP; Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP; EY; Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP; Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP; HSBC Bank USA, N.A.; Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP; ProSearch Strategies, Inc.; and Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP.
