Valentine’s Day Story

Sophia M., a Half Hollow Hills H S W volunteer, shares what she learned after she wrote her #MyDearFriend Valentines.

Today we made Valentine’s Day cards for the seniors and learned some new calligraphy skills. I had so much fun writing cards and learning new art skills along the way. I enjoyed making these cards because I know it will really make the seniors’ day. I will remember on Valentine’s Day that I made a few seniors happy with the cards that I made. I would advise a new volunteer to make their cards with a lot of different colors and positive messages. I would also advise making sure to write in big letters so the seniors can read what our cards have to say. My expectations for being a GlamourGals volunteer is to always be kind and generous towards those who need it most during tough times. I hope to learn new ways to be creative while at the same time making the world a happy and brighter place.
