My Latest GlamourGals Meeting

Yesterday I had my spring GlamourGals party on Zoom with the Hebrew Home at Riverdale! It was absolutely incredible in every way. We did trivia on Spring, asked them what everyone's favorite flowers were, and what everyone is excited for. Once we got to the questions about what everyone is looking forward to, I got a little bit emotional.

Many women were sharing how they can't wait to hold their new great-grandchildren in their arms when everyone gets vaccinated, and others were saying how much they miss hugging their 9-year-old granddaughter, with whom they speak every Friday before the Sabbath. I can't imagine how hard it has been to be separated from their families. Many women asked me questions about my life, and they seemed genuinely curious and grateful that I've been planning all these parties for them.

It took us a while to get started with these GlamourGals events, but now that we do them, I hope we can get a few more in before I graduate. I really hope my current vice president, Jordan, continues the club next year because this is such a great opportunity to spend time with elderly women, in a pandemic or not. I'll remember these experiences for the rest of my life!
