2021 Glammy Scholarship Winner: Macey Goodrich
Bayport, Wisconsin, May 25, 2021 — Bayport High School senior Macey Goodrich is one of five teens across the country to take home the $1,000 Glammy Scholarship Award. The scholarship, awarded by the GlamourGals Foundation, was presented to Goodrich at the 17th Annual Glammy Scholarship Awards, held virtually on May 22.
GlamourGals Foundation, a nonprofit that inspires and organizes teens to combat elder isolation through one-on-one makeovers and manicures at senior homes, grants scholarships to exemplary volunteers within the organization. Goodrich, who will be attending St. Norbert College and majoring in mathematics this fall, has gone above and beyond as the president of her chapter, ensuring that the seniors, during the COVID-19 pandemic, were still able to experience GlamourGals and enable volunteers to have an enriching experience with the seniors.
Goodrich has grown into a role model and leader during her two years with GlamourGals. Her responsibilities in her chapter grew during the pandemic where she took over creating promotion flyers, obtaining and laying out any resources and materials needed to assemble goodie bags, and most importantly, encouraged a positive atmosphere for chapter volunteers. Participating in the Bayport High School GlamourGals chapter also confirmed her professional ambition to create her own non-profit organization which would offer educational and emotional support resources for students with learning disabilities.
“Kindness is contagious, and our small choices add up to have a significant impact on the world! I hope to spread volunteerism throughout my community by starting a GlamourGals chapter in college” said Goodrich while reflecting on her time spent with GlamourGals and how she plans to continue in college.
