Falling in Love with Autumn Wreaths🍂

The Hofstra University Chapter participated in a GG Senior Home Visit, engaging in wreath making and meaningful conversations.

This week was my first official event for GlamourGals. After experiencing this event I am so excited to be a part of this club. Making wreaths with the elderly and talking to them was the highlight of my week. It was nice to have conversations with them and see the smiles on their faces when their wreaths were done. They even told me they would hang up on their doors! I am so happy that I got the opportunity to make someone’s day, and I can’t wait to do more activities!

For Hofstra’s first visit of the year, we went to the local senior home and made mini autumn wreaths with the residents. As a freshman, this was my first experience with the program, and it was a great time! The senior I worked withs name was Mary, and she had lived in New York for all of her life. As someone who has just moved to New York, I loved talking to her about the city, landmarks, and what the colleges used to be like when she went. I was reminded that a lot of the seniors don’t have any, or a lot of family, and they love to just have a connection and conversation with others. This was very heartwarming to me, and I enjoyed it just as much!
