GLTI’s Lasting Impact

While the 20th Annual GlamourGals Leadership Training Institute wrapped, the volunteers continue to share how they will carry the lessons and interactions with them for years to come.

GLTI was such an amazing experience. I was kind of nervous, since I had never attended [the event], but it exceeded my expectations. In particular, Allegra really resonated with me – her upbeat personality, the dancing, her talk, all of it was amazing. All of the volunteers were so nice and so welcoming. It was great to see so many new and familiar faces. I learned not only how to become a better person inside and out but how to improve my lifestyle and every task. I will wake up every day and say, ‘I am grateful for today, and that today will be a great day’...I can’t wait for next year!

I was so grateful to be given such an amazing opportunity to represent the Tenafly High School chapter at this event!...It was so awesome to see and chat with so many volunteers from high school and college chapters. I met a volunteer from Rutgers University Chapter, and she inspired me to pursue my GlamourGals chapter throughout my college years. I enjoyed writing My Dear Friend notes, and I’m especially looking forward to sharing my experience with our seniors next time we see them!

I thought that it was very helpful and informative as we had so many inspiring and empowering speakers come. They really grabbed my attention during the speeches and taught me a lot. [Before], I never really understood why it was important to have connections with past clients, co-workers, or even people in general, as well as why it’s so important to focus on what you want to do, rather than have someone else tell you what to do simply because it sounds better. It made me reflect on myself, and I will be sure to remember everything the speakers talked about and try to apply it into my life and future job experiences. They gave me advice for high school and college, which I will keep in mind. I really learned a lot this year and would go back again next year.
