Card Writing and Bracelet Making!

Stefanie B., Thomas A. Edison High School Vice President, details the exciting transition from virtual to in person programming. Her chapter has continued to host creative and interactive activities for the seniors.

1/14/2022 Today we held a virtual meeting where we chilled and listened to music. We created cards for the scenarios and chatted with other members. Justin Bieber and The Neighborhood were among those artist that our members listen to. Today was fun and relaxing, it was nice to have a virtual meeting once in a while. We did not have as many members attend today’s meeting but getting to know a few members better was a great experience. Next meeting we are back in person and we will be preparing a hands on creative activity for the members!! :)

2/28/2022 We are back in person! I am glad to see more members attend and create bracelets for the seniors. We distributed beads, strings, and scissors to create bracelets to attach to the cards for the seniors. We also had paper, crayons, and coloring pencils for members to make My Dear Friend cards. We had a lot of members show up today and I was excited to walk around the tables to see their creations and catch up with them. They created bracelets with empowering words of “love”, “strong”, and “kind” to give to the seniors. It is our duty to continue to support them and show them appreciation through unprecedented times. Like always, we had a playlist of songs the members enjoyed playing in the background. I enjoy these meetings, especially when I see the other members having fun while making something to give to brighten up others.
