Making Memorable Connections

Alexa D., President of the Susan E. Wagner Chapter, recalls a meaningful conversation at a GG Senior Home Visit.

“One senior that I vividly remember talking to was Merna. She was a lovely woman, who told me all about her life. She told me about her interests, such as traveling and spending time with her kids and grandkids. She even told me she has 25 kids! She loves traveling, especially cruises to the Caribbean, just like I do! She was so funny and brought a smile to my face. Halfway through her manicure, her friend Selena walked in, and they reminded me of my friendships. She was kind and genuine, and I loved talking to her so much. Her friendship with Selena made me realize the value of having someone to converse with. We are all social beings and enjoy the company of others no matter our age.
