Glammy Scholarship Awards 2023

GlamourGals volunteers from various chapters in the New York Metropolitan area reflect on their experience at the Glammys.

Today, I attended my first Glammy Awards, and received the Intergenerational Service Award for 21.5 volunteer hours and 7 journals! I am proud to have achieved this all in two months! I was also interviewed on the Hot Pink Carpet and was surprised at how easily I was able to answer all the questions without preparing any speech. I was touched after hearing about Allegra’s story, and it was so much fun meeting the members of other GlamourGals chapters. Overall, the whole event was fun and inspiring for me to keep leading my chapter.

The Glammy Scholarship Awards was a fun and inspiring experience. The event began with mocktails and fun activities such as friendship bracelet making, polaroid booth, jewelry “shopping” station, makeup retouching station, and much more. That was a fun experience. I also received my Intergenerational Award along with a pretty flower! Hearing Allegra Cohen’s inspiring story and her outlook on life, truly inspired me. Huge congratulations to Allegra and the rest of the scholarship winners! Huge thank you to Rachel and the GG team for putting this event together, it was truly inspiring.

Attending the Glammys this past Saturday was an extremely inspirational experience, and I am so happy to have shared it with my fellow chapter volunteers and those across the country. It was a great opportunity to connect with other volunteers from various schools, and the activities provided were so much fun! Hearing the speeches from the scholarship award recipients was very gratifying; many of the alumni inspired me to incorporate some of their chapter ideas into my school’s club. Hearing Allegra Cohen’s speech upon receiving her award was very captivating, her motivating words encouraged me to enact many of her personal policies into my life. Overall, the event was an incredible experience, and I can’t wait to continue participating in GlamourGals!
