A Season of Giving with My Dear Friend

Tiffany F. from the Bloomfield Chapter learned how a simple act of kindness can spread joy.

With GlamourGals, another way to connect with senior citizens and help fight against senior isolation, especially during the Holiday Season is their My Dear Friend campaign.

As a chapter leader, I feel encouraged to make a difference and show my fellow members how you can make a difference with small gestures. I have decided to write as many cards as possible, regardless of how many we make together as a chapter. Personally, my goal is to write at least 200 cards, which I have almost completed with the help of my family and close friends. Every moment that I have free, I use it to make a card or two. The other day my little brother who is five saw me and he was asking me who I was making letters for. After I explained to him, he grabbed a marker and paper and he started doing some on his own. I think this was the sweetest thing ever. It also makes me feel good to see that even someone as young as him realizes the impact writing a letter can have. It showed me that I can be a good leader and do good things in our community and that nothing is too small to make a difference.

For me, My Dear Friend signifies dedication and the desire to make this world a better place for everyone. I encourage everyone to joining and be part of the #GGMovement.
