Flower Crowns for Spring

Gayatri S. of the Union County Vocational Technical Schools shares the mutual excitement that she and the seniors feel for spring - illustrated by their flower crown craft.

We visited Arbor Terrace Mountainside and made flower crowns to celebrate the arrival of spring and painted nails too! All the seniors were so happy to see us. Their excitement made me feel thankful that I was able to bring them that feeling, the same one I get when I get excited for these visits. One senior at the home sat down and immediately began the craft. It was so cool to see his interest and focus! He didn't ask for any help and was so proud once he placed the finished crown on his head! Seeing the joy on his face made me feel so happy and loved. Another senior had a small statue that she kept in her room. She made a tiny, custom crown to place on the statue rather than making one for herself! This visit was so much fun, and we could all definitely feel the joy that spring brought with it in the air!
