Fabulous Firsts

Banu D. from our Thornton Academy chapter shares how it’s never too late to do something for the first time.

The first senior I gave a manicure to today had never worn nail polish before. I was told she was in her late 90s and very excited to meet us. She shared that during our last visit to Atlantic Heights, she had been sick and stuck in bed, so she wasn’t able to come downstairs for a manicure. Since she was being picked up by her children at 11:30 for Mother’s Day, she was the first person I was asked to see. She requested red nail polish, and I think it turned out really nicely. She was happy to have her nails painted for the first time.
