Remembering Differences

Chloe D., a volunteer at Shenandoah High School, recalls the importance and impact of involvement in her life.

When I go to the nursing homes, I always remember the people there. I remember everyone's names and remember the things we talked about last. Which is hard because we know that they have no idea that we have met before and seeing that does make me upset. The one thing that I remember is having the same conversations with the same person, as if we have never met before. Seeing these elderly people really does make me grateful for still having my grandma with me who is healthy and still capable of doing things on her own. I think it's super important that we involve ourselves with seniors because we are making a difference in the life they have there.
