Tough Times, Important Times

Alisha K., a Commack High School volunteer, shares how her GlamourGals experience influenced her life during the pandemic.

GlamourGals is a gorgeous and heartwarming program that connects young women to our fellow seniors. Having a pandemic break out wasn't ideally how I thought my sophomore year with GlamourGals would go, but it did teach me something I value. It taught me that the experiences I had last year bonding with seniors, made me ready for this unusual moment. I bond with my grandparents via FaceTime and I shoveled my elderly neighbor’s driveway. GlamourGals has shown and taught me that during tough times, is when we need to deliver the most, and it can be as simple as saying hello!!!
