Caroling in Commack

Our Commack Chapter shows GG holiday cheer by singing for their seniors with jingle bells in hand and festive antlers.

Today we visited Martin Luther and went door to door to do some holiday caroling for the senior residents. I found it so fun and rewarding. The residents were so excited, and some of them were brought to tears! I couldn’t believe the impact we were making on them just by singing them some holiday classics. I also learned how important it is to have good leaders with these types of events. Just a few people singing confidently is all the group needed to get started. I can’t wait for our next visit! Maybe I’ll see some of the residents I saw today and get to know them better!

My chapter and I went holiday caroling around a senior home last week! It was so much fun and an amazing experience overall. We all got to sing the seniors’ cheerful holiday songs. We were able to see their reactions and their happiness radiated back to us. I absolutely loved seeing the impact we were making on them just by singing to them… They seemed like they really enjoyed having us there, and in the future I hope we can do something like this again.

On the week before holiday break, we took a trip to the nursing home for our annual caroling!...Members were given bells to jingle along to the songs and reindeer ears to be festive. We knocked at each apartment door, and… we sang a song for them and brought polaroids to take pictures with some of the seniors. We received many kind words from the seniors, and one nice lady went back into her apartment and gave us cookies! That kind gesture warmed our hearts in the cold weather. It was a really nice day! I will cherish this memory.
