Bringing the Carnival to the Senior Home

Amador Valley HS Chapter organized a carnival at The Parkview full of games and snacks.

Overall, our volunteers had so much fun with the seniors. The seniors were also able to bring their families, so the crowd at the event was very diverse. At the beginning of the event, the seniors got food and went around playing games, where each of us were stationed. I, personally, was able to talk to three different people. Two of them were ladies, which I have volunteered with before and they were talking about how much they enjoyed makeovers. The other person was a guy who told me about how much he enjoyed bowling. At the end, the seniors all watched a few of the kids from the families play cornhole.

When I got there the games that we had were bowling, corn hole, fishing, tic-tac-toe, and ring toss. Ring toss was probably the hardest game because, out of the 14 rings only, about 3 would make it. Bowling was the most popular game, almost everyone played it. There was lots of yummy food for everyone to eat! Some seniors sat on chairs and just watched other people play and really enjoyed it. It was a great experience to connect with our seniors through fun carnival games. I look forward to doing more senior visits this year for GlamourGals.

We had games such as cornhole, bowling, ring toss, and more. The seniors were able to play the games, win prizes, and eat food. I had fun teaching the seniors how to play and watching them win the games. I think that this event was really fun for the seniors because they were able to interact with each other and meet new friends.
