Previous Scholarship Recipient Spotlights

Each year GlamourGals awards 5 students with the Glammy Scholarship Award. Let’s check-in with some of our 2022 scholarship recipients and see what they are up to now.

Hi everyone! My name is Mahjabin Choudhury. I am a health science major on the premed track at Stony Brook University.

My first semester has been incredible as I was able to transition into college life whether it was in my classes or in my social interactions. I am also grateful that I’m able to dorm on campus as it has taught me a lot about responsibility and independence. This semester has been imperative to my growth as a students as I learned about my learning style, balancing school and other responsibilities, and developing my interests. This fall semester I was involved in Premed Society, Health Professions Club, Muslim Student Association (MSA), and Bengali’s Unite.

This scholarship has helped me tremendously by providing me financial support to pursue higher education. Lastly, this scholarship has alleviated the financial stresses that college can bring.

Hi! I’m Emma. I currently attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and am majoring in Psychology with minors in both Women and Gender Studies and Business!

My first semester at the University of Nebraska Lincoln has been absolutely amazing! I have found a passion for advocacy and activism since being on campus, and I have found myself getting involved in way more areas than I could have ever imagined. My main area of passion is and always has been, de-stigmatizing mental health, and providing resources to those who need them, which I have continued through the student organizations I have joined!

On campus I am involved in the University Honors Program, am Fundraising Chair for Out Of The Darkness (a club created by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention that aims to De-Stigmatize the conversation of mental health, and provide support to those who are struggling with emotions and mental well-being), am Family Representative in Dance Marathon, Student Alumni Association Member, Elementary Afterschool Club Leader, and am a campus tour guide.

Being a 2022 Glammy Scholar has provided me the opportunity to attend my dream school while being able to aid me both mentally and financially. This scholarship allowed me to have a break in my employment which allowed me to adapt to my new environment, create connections and have financial stability throughout this change of moving to a new city.

I attend Sacred Heart University. I am a part of the 3+3 physical therapy track under the major of exercise science! My first semester was incredible, very hectic schedule, but I managed to finish with a 4.0 GPA. I also chose to join the exercise science and biology club. Aside from academics, I am apart of the D1 rowing team, as well as the sorority of Zeta Tau Alpha. Additionally, I also plan on becoming an orientation leader!

I am beyond grateful for this scholarship. It has helped me with some financial struggles, and scholarships are always a blessing. I am so grateful for having Glamour Gals by my side. This is such an amazing organization filled with such beautiful and intelligent women. I wish all those applying (for the Glammy Scholarships) the best of luck, and to be yourself!
