Feeling Lucky

With Saint Patrick’s Day coming up, GG volunteers from various chapters reflect on how GlamourGals makes them feel lucky.

Being an active volunteer of the Bloomfield chapter for 4 years has opened up countless opportunities for myself and fellow volunteers. These opportunities range from scholarships to the GlamourGals Leadership Training Institute (GLTI). GG National truly is there to help whenever you feel stuck or need motivation. They have been a great sounding board for ideas, and, even if you aren’t personally speaking to someone from GG National, the official Instagram account provides so many resources for volunteers and chapter leaders to refer to. The support that GlamourGals offers their volunteers makes me feel lucky.

GlamourGals makes me feel incredibly lucky for both the opportunities that my school offers me as well as my health and the health of my family. Going to the senior home and seeing just how excited the residents are to see me, makes me a little sad that they don’t get visitors as often as they should. I’m grateful that my grandparents and elderly people in my life live close by and are in good enough health that I can visit them in their own homes without any other restrictions. Regardless, I am so glad that I was exposed to this organization and have been able to make the connections I have through GlamourGals.

GlamourGals makes me feel lucky by having the opportunity to help others. When I was younger, I didn’t feel like I could really help anyone, however, now I have the power to help others. Helping others makes me feel like I am someone special that can change someone’s life. I also felt really lucky that I was able to attend GLTI in Manhattan. I met a lot of new people and started becoming more open. I felt as if I was already friends with them, and it gave me the courage to do things that I didn’t know I could do.
