All You Need is Love

Jazmin D., President of the Peachtree City Chapter, discusses her friendship with senior Mr. Bob and how he taught her that love persists.

At our past event, I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Bob and listening to his beautiful love story! While I shaped his nails, he told me about the way he met his wife and how he dealt with grief when she passed from cancer.

Afterwards, I helped him to his room, where he showed me the pictures of his wife that decorated his door. He even had a huge tapestry with their wedding picture! He told me about the ways he copes with grief by talking to the picture of his wife on the tapestry for encouragement and remembering all of the fun memories they had together. I was blown away by the way he kept being positive and spreading positivity around the senior home and how he embraced the love season even though that was associated with loss in his life.

This experience really opened my eyes to be kinder to people and to love more and judge less. Mr. Bob made me realize that there will never be too much kindness, love, and positivity in the world; if anything, we need more of it.
