The Spirit of Service

Sofie G., the President of the Henderson Chapter, shares the lesson she learned from her GlamourGals experience and how she plans to carry it with her.

Graduation is coming up, and the feeling is very bittersweet! We just ordered a few hot pink cords for our active seniors in GlamourGals to show appreciation for all of their accomplishments in service and leadership.

Reflecting on my two years in this amazing organization, I want to share one of the biggest life lessons I have learned. After my very first visit, I knew that service was something that would always be a part of who I am. The smiles on all the seniors' faces made me beyond happy, and I always want to make others happy in any way I can. I learned that even the slightest action can go the longest way. After learning this through GG, I apply it to all my life. When my parents need a little extra help around the house, I make sure to just do one action that could make their afternoons easier. When my friends seem sad, I send them a happy text. Life is all about finding the best in others, which I always try to do by making others happy. I want to thank GG for giving me the opportunity to discover this amazing life lesson that I will always remember.
