Manhattan Hunter Science High School Chapter’s First GG Senior Home Visit
Chapter Leaders from Manhattan Hunter Science High School reflect on their first senior home visit, sharing how they turned their initial worries into a wonderful experience.
“The first senior home visit of our chapter was very nerve wracking but ended up being an extremely rewarding experience. Before the event, I was anxious about whether everything would run smoothly and be fun. However, it ended up being very successful, as both the seniors and the volunteers had an amazing time! A few of the seniors commented on how they hadn’t smiled so much in a while, and all our volunteers were excited for future events. Overall, I can’t wait for future visits, and I hope future events will be just as inspiring!”
“Last week, our Manhattan Hunter Science High School GlamourGals chapter had their first visit at Sunrise Senior Home. I was already very excited about the visit and a little nervous, but when I got there, it was just amazing to see all these events going on and the seniors so happy our group was ready to get started. Once we met everybody, it was a little awkward at first. Only a few minutes later, the room was lit up. This one woman named Linda, whose nails I was painting, said she’s never seen her and her friends so happy before. I almost burst into tears. Safe to say that this visit was a huge success, and I cannot wait for our next one.”
