Seniors Inspiring New Outlooks

Mackenzie C., President of Delsea Regional High School’s chapter, shares her impactful experience connecting with a senior. 

GlamourGals has impacted my life tremendously. I have met so many wonderful people who have given me a new outlook on life. I started GlamourGals my freshman year and wasn’t sure what to expect. During one of my first visits, I met a wonderful woman named Rosemary. She told me all about her life, her struggles after her father passed, and how it brought her closer to God. Her story was inspiring and really gave me a different outlook on life. I talked to her for over an hour, and never wanted the conversation to end. A few months later, when I went back to the residence, I saw her again and we continued right where we left off! 

GlamourGals is a club I look forward to every month, and even after high school, I still want to continue the work in college. I have even encouraged my sister to join GlamourGals, and it makes me so happy to see her experience what I did. For some, conversations may be awkward, but this club helps build social skills while making people feel good about themselves. I am proud to be a part of something so beautiful, and I will carry this experience with me for the rest of my life.
