Why Nikita serves with GlamourGals
GlamourGals has been an important part of my life for more than 20 years. My journey began in 2005, when I met GlamourGals founder Rachel Doyle at the HOBY Leadership Seminar and was inspired to become Co-President, and later President, of my high school’s GlamourGals chapter.
When I left for college, I knew I wanted GlamourGals to remain part of my life. I founded the GlamourGals chapter at The George Washington University, where many of my sorority sisters joined me as volunteers. My experience with GG ultimately inspired my senior thesis, which explored the role of intergenerational relationships in the lives of elderly women living in Washington, D.C. nursing homes.
After graduating and moving to New York City, I continued to grow alongside the organization, taking on roles including Alumni Council Chairwoman, Deputy Liaison, and member of the GG Twitter Team. Staying involved beyond my years as a teen volunteer gave me the opportunity to help strengthen the alumni community and support an organization and mission that had already shaped so much of my own life.
After moving to Los Angeles in 2015, I took on one of my most rewarding roles with GlamourGals as a member of the Advisory Council. Over the years, I’ve helped plan and execute Los Angeles shopping fundraisers benefiting GG, hosted mentor calls with GG interns in New York, participated in volunteer events and makeovers, and helped select recipients of the Glammy Scholarship Awards. I’m incredibly grateful to continue giving back to an organization that helped shape my approach to leadership, service, and the importance of meaningful connections across generations.
Today, I work as a Partner Manager for Sports & Entertainment at X, where I manage partnerships with leading sports, media, and entertainment organizations.
More than two decades after my first GlamourGals makeover, I’m proud that GG remains an important part of my life and that I can now help support the next generation of volunteers and leaders.
3 Questions With Nikita
Tell us about a senior or a teen volunteer you’ll never forget.
"I remember at one makeover in high school, there was a senior who looked very unapproachable and didn't seem to want to participate. As GG President, I decided to sit with her and do her makeover.
She didn't speak to me at first, but I started talking to her and doing her makeup anyway. When I finally showed her the mirror, I saw a small smile appear on her face. It made me feel so good to see how much her demeanor changed in that moment, just from my attempt to connect with her. It made me realize that sometimes all it takes is for someone to make that first effort.”

What’s the best piece of advice a senior ever gave you?
"Rosalie, one of my favorite seniors, always reminded me to live life to the fullest. She would share the most amazing stories from her life, and I always cherished hearing them. Her stories, and that advice, have stayed with me all these years.”
