"I joined GlamourGals because of my lifelong passion around helping the elderly population."

Why Amanda serves with GlamourGals

I witnessed firsthand how the elderly can become such a forgotten part of society, particularly while in assisted living or nursing home facilities.  Their physical, mental, and emotional health and well-being should be prioritized the same, if not more, than every other member of society.  We cannot abandon people when they need us the most.

GlamourGals does such important work helping to combat elder isolation.  I love how makeup is used as a medium for dialogue and personal connections.  Especially now, with limited visitation due to Covid, GlamourGals' mission is more important than ever.  The #MyDearFriend campaign has truly been inspiring.  GlamourGals is an organization I am proud to be part of!

3 Questions With Lauri

What moment made GlamourGals real for you?

“Meeting Rachel and hearing about her passion for helping the elderly, which was very reminiscent of my similar feelings ever since I realized how broken our healthcare system is as a young girl when it comes to this population, when my grandparents were in and out of hospitals and nursing homes.”

What’s your go-to nail polish color — and what does it say about you?

"Pink! I like to add a bit of spunk to what I'm wearing! It makes me happy to look at.”

What would you tell your teenage self about leadership?

"Leadership can take many different forms.  Stay true to yourself and follow your passions!"

Join her in building a movement of teen leaders ending elder loneliness — because makeovers and manicures are half the story.
