Why Ashley serves with GlamourGals
Ashley Tashjian is the Senior Director of Design & Merchandising at French Toast Schoolwear, where she leads product innovation, inclusive design, and brand expansion across the full portfolio. Her work is dedicated to creating clothing that fosters confidence, independence, and accessibility for all students. After attending a GlamourGals makeover event in November 2024, Ashley was deeply inspired by the joy and connection it sparked, motivating her to join the Advisory Council and help broaden the organization’s impact nationwide. She is passionate about empowering young leaders and strengthening intergenerational relationships.
Before joining French Toast, Ashley led Toddler Girl Design at The Children’s Place and later brought her expertise to LT Apparel Group to design for HealthTex, sold exclusively at Walmart. She earned her BFA from Marist University, majoring in Fashion Design with a minor in Fashion Merchandising - her most cherished college experience being a semester abroad in Florence in Fall 2008.
Outside of work, Ashley enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, playing tennis, and, true to her industry, shopping.

Who is the senior in your own life who shaped you?
"My grandmother Mary was, and still is, such a guiding light in my life. From a young age, she taught me that anything is possible if you believe in yourself and aren’t afraid to speak your mind. She was strong, opinionated, and truly a pioneer for her time. Her confidence and determination have shaped so much of who I am today.”
What’s your go-to nail polish color — and what does it say about you?
"I love a classic pink-and-white French manicure. It’s timeless, polished, and incredibly versatile - it works just as well on the tennis court as it does in a board meeting or at the park with my kids. To me, it says I’m polished but practical, and always ready for wherever the day takes me.”
What would you tell your teenage self about leadership?
"I would tell my teenage self not to wait for permission to lead. Leadership isn’t defined by age - it’s defined by your actions, your passion, and your willingness to speak up for what you believe in. If something matters to you, take a stand, use your voice, and find a way to make a difference. You’re never too young to have an impact."
